Nation X, Part 4 of 8: Cyclops takes a voyage into the head of Emma Frost in hopes of containing the horrifying piece of the villainous Void that has been stuck there since UTOPIA. Can they possibly defeat the awfulness that has haunted the most powerful being in the Marvel U? Tensions are rising on Utopia as the X-Men deal with the new members of their team and the fact that the island is…well…sinking.

In this issue, Magnus is recovering from fighting a Predator X in the last issue. Still in his bed (and jammies), Dr. Nemesis and the X-Club approach Magnus to question him on whether he has really joined the X-Men as an ally. They also ask him to help figure out a plan to stop Utopia from sinking into the ocean.

There was just one thing I found odd about the dialogue in this scene. At one point, as Madison Jeffries is trying to explain to Magneto why Utopia is sinking in technical terms, Warren (Angel) says “English, Jeffries.”, as if to say “Stop using big words”. While I guess it’s plausible that Warren himself was having trouble understanding, I highly doubt that Magnus, being the engineer and inventor he was and still is, would have any trouble with Madison’s explanation.

In any case, Magneto’s help and actions become vital in the next few issues. Now go read the issue!

So far, I’ve been loving this arc. I might be a sucker for Bachalo art, but you can’t argue that this story hasn’t been entertaining panel by panel. It really is true that you can’t be an X-Man unless you’ve been transformed into some kind of monster or alien at least once.

I ended up liking X-Men #7 a lot more than I thought I would. The storytelling and characters reminded me so much of the wacky 90s-ness that I miss so much from my X-Men comics. Bachalo’s art is alway welcome, in my opinion. Peter joining the craziness is also very much welcome, as I haven’t read a good Spidey/X-Men team-up in ages. Looking forward to this one.

Guys, I have to admit something.

I LOVE HOPE. I think she’s adorable, and I actually kind of like Generation Hope so far. It’s not the best, but each issue gets better.

Also, Cable, lol. What ^^^ she said.

You should not be afraid to admit that you love Hope or that you’re enjoying Generation Hope. You have at least one person who feels the same way.

Also, Generation Hope has so much potential, and I really hope the writers can live up to that potential, cuz I’m quickly falling in love with those characters.
